  • Create Your Affirmations

At this point of the course you should now understand what your vision is in all 8 areas of your life. So now it’s time to use the power of Affirmations to ensure you attract this into your life.

We have included a worksheet with a list of example affirmations you can use in the resource section above to give you some ideas. By all means use these examples if you feel they represent you and what you want from life.

It’s also a great idea to try and create some of your own using the technique of writing down a list of negatives, things that are holding you back and stopping you from pushing forward in life. Once you have the list of negatives just flip those around to positive statements in the present tense.

Just to repeat that, make you affirmations PRESENT TENSE! You should not be writing and saying things like ‘I want to be in a happy and healthy relationship’. Instead what you should be saying is something like ‘I am in a happy and healthy relationship’…

To begin with it will be hard to remember all affirmations so make sure you record them. We have included a tab on the Life Planner Doc you have been using for the past few weeks, so go and record all of your affirmations in there so you always have somewhere to refer back to.

Something else you could also do is once you have all your affirmations written down you could record yourself saying them out loud with conviction and belief they are true. Then play this back to yourself on your phone or whatever recording device you decide to use on a daily basis.

Something else to remember is your affirmations will constantly be getting updated, some will remain on your list for years, or even indefinitely… Whilst others will be added when a specific event in your life is coming up and you need some affirmations to help you overcome and achieve these specific things.

There is no hard and fast rule for the number of affirmations to have however do your best to have 10 or more. To begin with this is just a 1 minute practice but as time goes on it’s preferred and far more beneficial for that time to increase.

Additionally if you would like to go into a lot more depth on affirmations there is a link to a really good book in the resources section above that talks about Affirmations. Noah St. John actually coined the word ‘Afformations’ hence the book title, and he talks about how to frame and word your affirmations so you can really get you subconscious mind working for you to go out and make these things happen.

Habits

  • Affirmations AM

Start by doing 1 minute of affirmations every morning as part of your morning routine. You will need to make sure you complete the exercise and make your list of affirmations first.

The most effective time to do your affirmations is directly after your morning visualization. Remember we said try mediation first, then visualization, then add in the affirmations. You will be the most relaxed at this point and you will have just finished the visualization of everything you want. Your affirmations should be in line with your vision of what you want so it’s the perfect time to do your affirmations.

It’s important to state your affirmations in the present tense, like you already have them in your life. For example:

“I am happy and grateful for healthy 80kg body that I have

To begin with you will likely need to read your affirmations off of a piece of paper or screen but in time they will come to you naturally.

An extremely powerful way of doing your affirmations is to stand in front of the mirror and look yourself in the eyes and say your affirmations out loud. Make sure you believe them and say them with conviction. If you don’t really believe any of them will happen then it really defeats the entire purpose of the exercise!

If you are worried what others may think then by all means say it quietly but you need to say it aloud, not just think it.
